Nando’s landed in Wokingham this week, offering up all the spicy chicken a town could ever need and more, but of course we couldn’t celebrate alone – we were lucky enough to have Wokingham’s number one Nando’s super-fan, Emma ‘Waymando’ Wayman join us.
Emma dropped us a line in the run up to the opening after hearing about a new Nando’s hatching in Wokingham. As a local super-fan she told us how she’d always wanted to open a restaurant and even showed us her PERi-PERi poem. It goes without saying that we love our fans so we couldn’t wait to invite Emma to be our official Wokingham ribbon cutter and treat her to the town’s very first Nando’s meal.
We’ll hand over to Emma to tell us about her day . . .
“From the moment I first tasted the Nando’s PERi-PERi goodness I wanted for nothing more. So, when I heard a restaurant was coming to my home town I joked to my friends that I had written my very own Nando’s poem and been invited to cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony on my Facebook. But I knew I had to figure out a way to make it a reality…

So I got in touch with Nando’s and told them about my poem. To my surprise they responded with the news I could only have dreamt to receive! I was asked to come along to the grand opening – all my dreams had come true.
Finally the big day came, I cut through the ribbon officially opening the restaurant and words cannot describe my excitement to tuck in to a PERi-licious lunch. The staff, food and restaurant are all amazing. I am certain I will be there at least twice a week.
Rounding up the day I posed with restaurant Nandocas and Mayor of Wokingham Peter Lucey – I truly feel like Nando’s number one fan!”
Big thank you to Emma and everyone that came to celebrate, if you missed it come and check us out in Wokingham.
