Ten Years at The Top!

We were thrilled to help online trainer and sneaker destination ‘Crooked Tongues’ celebrate their tenth anniversary with a mega BBQ at Shoreditch Studios last weekend and to continue the celebrations a little longer the lovely folks are giving one lucky reader the chance to win an amazing pack of goodies!

For those of you who did not make the event it was quite the party, after ten years as the online destination for trainers and sneakers ‘Crooked Tongues’ sure know how to throw a party and we were on hand to provide some delicious chicken treats fresh from the BBQ grill! Our Nandocas were kitted out in their own personalised red shirts and Reebok trainers.

You can’t have a party without great music and the incredible line-up of DJs didn’t disappoint! Rinse FM’s Alex Nut played an eclectic set of upfront dubstep and hip-hop, Cosmin TRG kept the Ibiza contingent happy with deep house and techno and last but not least the man they all came to see, David Rodigan blew everyone away with his signature set covering reggae classics right up to cutting edge dubstep. If you’ve not seen Rodigan in action before, it’s a sight to behold! Few people live up to ‘legend’ status but he is a true living legend.

All Decked Up!

We’re still a little worse for wear here at Nando’s HQ – we’re still recovering from the fun and antics from the Manchester and Leicester Skate Jams and now the London Skate Jam is upon us!

Ramp it up…again!

Here at Nando’s, we’ve just about recovered from last weekend’s xPERimental Skate Jam in Manchester. It was a fun packed day filled with skating, tricks and a delicious Nando’s feast of course!

Skating pro Rodney Clarke was busy giving all the kids free beginners lessons, while fellow pros Alex de Cunha and Lucy Adams showed off some of their skating trickery – attracting a few wows from the crowd in the process!

As the lessons kicked off there were of course a few tumbles to contend with but some serious coaching coupled with dedication resulted in quite a few tricks achieved by the end of the day! One family even travelled all the way from Halifax to join all the skating antics! Best of all, we all got rewarded with a scrumptious chicken feast courtesy of the Nando’s grill.

Now all the fun starts again in Leicester this Saturday 25th September. Come and join us at the Boardroom from 10am for your share of the skating fun!

Hit the deck…

We’re really excited because Nando’s xPERimental Skate Jam is back! All the fun kicks off at Manchester’s Central Skatepark this Saturday, and we cannot wait to get stuck into learning to skate with skating pros like Rodney Clarke and Alex de Cunha all while diving into some BBQ fresh Nando’s!

This year the Skate Jam tour is going to be even bigger than last with lots more activities like beginners’ lessons and watching live skating antics by the pros!

If you’ve never skateboarded before – now is the time to get started! Join us at Manchester’s Central Skatepark this Saturday for an action packed day of fun.

We’ve also been getting creative this week because Design-a-Deck is back! The new xPERimental website gives you all the design gadgets and gizmos you need to design a unique deck. Sound like fun? Then get involved! You could win a year’s supply of chicken and get your design made into 10 decks – so get creative!

Don’t worry if you can’t make it to Manchester this weekend – the Skate Jam Tour hits The Boardroom in Leicester on 25 September and then BaySixty6 in London on 2 October.
