Questions or feedback?

Here are some answers to the two main ones we think you might have. Got any more or want to give us some feedback? Tweet us (use #NandosApp) or drop us an email to feedback (at) nandos.co.uk

Q. Um, Why is it only available on iOS and Android? I’ve got a Blackberry/Nokia and I feel left out.

A. Sorry, we had to choose which platforms to develop the app for and we went with the two most popular for smartphones – based on general technology trends and also what we see from the stats for our website and other online activity. Remember too, we recently launched a mobile-friendly version of our website, so if you visit nandos.co.uk on *any* mobile device, then you’ll be able to easily find and get directions to your nearest Nando’s as well as check out the full Nando’s menu. There’s also an official Nando’s Nokia app that’s been around a while and we’re already looking at options for Blackberry and how we can bring some more app love to our Nando’s fans that like a side of BBM with their chicken.

Q. How come the Nando’s app doesn’t have a menu or let me order Nando’s straight from my phone?

A. We decided to focus on the social side of things with the first version of the app – making it easier to find and get directions to your nearest Nando’s, meet up with your mates and check-in using Facebook, as well as a load of other nice things like being able to save and share your favourite Nando’s. We’re already working on version two which will include a tasty pocket version of the menu, as well as other top secret, yet-to-be announced, features that we think you’ll love. So, watch this space!

PERi PERi Phurrrrr Ha-Ha-Ha!

Friday, December 16th, 2011

Back in October, we asked you what noise you make when you think of Nando’s. After three months searching, entries from Nando’s fans across the country (including Olly Murs, Rizzle Kicks and Rio Ferdinand) and thousands of votes at NandosNoise.com we can now crown the winner of the Ultimate Nando’s Noise competition!

You decided that Mitchell’s ‘PERi PERi Phurrrrr Ha-Ha-Ha!’ is the Ultimate Nando’s Noise, just beating finalists Sasha and Danai to win an amazing holiday to South Africa.

So, massive thanks to everyone that took part and voted, especially everyone who uploaded their own Nando’s Noise and of course our three shortlisted finalists who’ve all won themselves free Nando’s for a year!

Finding out about having his noise being voted the Ultimate Nando’s Noise, Mitchell said: “I am thrilled to be have won. From hearing the ads on the radio, I just had to enter, not only for the holiday but for the year’s supply of Nando’s. I will be celebrating my win with a medium half chicken and chips! Thanks to everyone that voted!”

So that’s a wrap. (ba-doom-tsssh) We hope you agree as we speak on behalf of the PERi nation that Mitchell captures that very moment that we all love when eating PERi-PERi chicken!

…Olly Murs, Jameela Jamil, Rio Ferdinand to name a few familiar faces joined in too, submitting their entries in the search for the Ultimate Nando’s Noise . . .

. . . 250,000 of you checked out the original video starring Reggie Watts that kicked off the whole search . . .

Thanks everyone!

Look who turned up at JLS’ Nando’s Jukebox!

Friday, October 28th, 2011

Everyone knows how much JLS love their Nando’s chicken and what better way to celebrate the launch of their third album, Jukebox than with a PERi-PERi party. The Great Portland Street Nando’s hosted an album playback where 200 of JLS’s biggest fans danced away to the brand spanking new tracks, including their next release ‘Take A Chance on Me’.

Being a band that do not like to miss out on a party, the restaurant erupted with screams as those cheeky JLS boys shocked fans, including our lucky blog competition winners by turning up to join in with the celebration.

Not only did Aston, JB, Oritsé and Marvin introduce the album, eat PERi-PERi delights and treat fans to pictures but the boys were having so much fun that they decided to perform their hit single, Love You More.

We managed to grab a quick word with JB, who said “This is such a fantastic way for us to personally thank all of our fans for their support and what better place to do it than in our favourite restaurant, Nando’s! Our music is the most important thing to us so being able to share it with our fans in this way is awesome!”

Take A Chance On Me is available to download on Nov 7th
Jukebox is available to download on Nov 14th

Nando’s Noise . . . What’s yours?

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011

Hopefully, you’ll have noticed that we recently launched Nando’s Noise – our latest ad campaign starring Reggie Watts where we’re asking fans to let us know what noise they make when they hear the word Nando’s.

nandosnoise560

It’s gone down a treat so far, with over 100,000 views of Reggie’s beat boxing performance on YouTube and a whole load of Twitterings, Facebookings and bloggings about it. We’re really feeling the love, thank you.

But, our appetite for your Nando’s noises is not satisfied. In fact, we feel like we’re just tucking into the starter. So, if you haven’t got involved yet, then now is the time . . . especially when we remind you that next week we’ll be picking the best Nando’s noises to star in our next set of online and radio ads (as well as each ‘noisemaker’ getting £250 worth of Nando’s goodies).

If you think about it, 2.5 seconds of your time could earn you £250. That’s one hundred pounds a second and you get to beat box and think of Nando’s, at the same time. Now that’s something worth switching on your webcam for right?

Black-Eyed-Peas pic

So, the Black Eyed Peas played at The 02 on the 5th May…. You’ll never guess what they ate for dinner!? We couldn’t believe it! We got a call from a lovely lady at 9:10pm asking if they could place an order for the Black Eyed Peas and their dancers for when they come off stage! We were really pleased that they choose PERi-PERi as their meal of choice! (I wonder if they tried the new Macho Peas!) As if that wasn’t enough excitement for one day – we’ve been speaking to their tour manager about feeding the band when they are back at the 02 at the end of the month. Bring on the 27th and 28th May – woohoo!

Tinchy Stryder and Chipmunk

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

Nandos_Chimpmunk_Tinchy_137

Tinchy Stryder and Chipmunk popped down to our new restaurant in Kings Cross last Tuesday (4th May). They are such nice guys, the team at the restaurant were really pleased to meet them and have the opportunity to have a chat. Both the lads are looking forward to the summer when they’re going to be busy appearing on the festival circuit and Chipmunk is currently working on his new album. Busy boys, but they still have time for chicken – very wise!!

Our Beautiful New Restaurant

Monday, April 26th, 2010

We’re very proud of our new addition to the family! Our restaurant on York Way in Kings Cross opened last Wednesday and has been an amazing success. Gabor is the Patrao (Patrao is what we call our managers, it’s Portuguese for head of the family!) and he is truely at the helm of that great ship, steering her onto the seas of York Way. We thought we’d share some pics of the beauty that is Nando’s in Kings Cross. Have you been? Are you going? Please share your thoughts and comments here!

Peri Peri Fires up the Big Smoke

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Map-London-A2-2503

Did you hear that flapping noise? Sorry, only us spreading our wings!! We’re all pretty excited as we have a brand new restaurant opening this week (Wednesday 21st April) just around the corner from Kings Cross station – on York Way. It’s a stunning restaurant, we hope we can welcome you to chow down on some chicken soon! It’s going to be pretty handy if you’re nipping off up north on the train or if you’ve got time to come in and relax with us.

We now have 22 restaurants in central London, a pretty impressive count I’m sure you’ll agree. We’re near several stations – Victoria (Cardinal Place and Wilton Road), Euston (right outside the station), Kings Cross (York Way) , London Bridge (Clink St) and Liverpool Street (Spitalfields) – a take away from Nando’s could be the perfect travel companion to join you on your next train journey. Fancy a pre-theatre Nando’s? We have restaurants in Piccadilly (Glasshouse St), Soho (Frith St), Covent Garden (Chandos Place) and Holborn (Southampton Place). Also if you’re on a shopping extravaganza at Westfield, a quick bite to eat in Nando’s is a perfect retail therapy break.

So, we just thought we’d share with you our newest restaurant to open and remind you that wherever and whenever you need us we’ll be there!
