Win Dinner at Nando’s and Tickets to Sucker Punch

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Daniel Kaluuya - Sucker PunchWhat a great combination Free Nando’s and Free tickets to the theatre. Nando’s is a great option for pre-theatre or pre-cinema. Tuck into a fine feast and relax knowing that you won’t be waiting for the bill just as you need to make a dash for your seats. We thought you might like a night out? How about a free meal at any Nando’s for two then tickets for both of you to see Sucker Punch at the Royal Court Theatre in Sloane Square. The nearest Nando’s restaurant is in Victoria Cardinal Place or Wilton Road (just a short tube ride away).

Sucker Punch is a brand new show opening on 11th June. In the red corner: Leon Davidson – Black British champ or Uncle Tom? In the blue corner: Troy Augustus– American powerhouse or naïve cash cow? Two former friends step into the ring and face up to who they are. Roy Williams’ play Sucker Punch looks back on what it was like to be young and black in the 80s and asks if the right battles have been fought, let alone won.

To win this brilliant prize, simply post your comment answering – Which Nando’s Peri Peri sauce packs the biggest punch? Which is the hottest Peri Peri sauce?

Black-Eyed-Peas pic

So, the Black Eyed Peas played at The 02 on the 5th May…. You’ll never guess what they ate for dinner!? We couldn’t believe it! We got a call from a lovely lady at 9:10pm asking if they could place an order for the Black Eyed Peas and their dancers for when they come off stage! We were really pleased that they choose PERi-PERi as their meal of choice! (I wonder if they tried the new Macho Peas!) As if that wasn’t enough excitement for one day – we’ve been speaking to their tour manager about feeding the band when they are back at the 02 at the end of the month. Bring on the 27th and 28th May – woohoo!

Tinchy Stryder and Chipmunk popped down to our new restaurant in Kings Cross last Tuesday (4th May). They are such nice guys, the team at the restaurant were really pleased to meet them and have the opportunity to have a chat. Both the lads are looking forward to the summer when they’re going to be busy appearing on the festival circuit and Chipmunk is currently working on his new album. Busy boys, but they still have time for chicken – very wise!!

Our Beautiful New Restaurant

Monday, April 26th, 2010

We’re very proud of our new addition to the family! Our restaurant on York Way in Kings Cross opened last Wednesday and has been an amazing success. Gabor is the Patrao (Patrao is what we call our managers, it’s Portuguese for head of the family!) and he is truely at the helm of that great ship, steering her onto the seas of York Way. We thought we’d share some pics of the beauty that is Nando’s in Kings Cross. Have you been? Are you going? Please share your thoughts and comments here!

Did you hear that flapping noise? Sorry, only us spreading our wings!! We’re all pretty excited as we have a brand new restaurant opening this week (Wednesday 21st April) just around the corner from Kings Cross station – on York Way. It’s a stunning restaurant, we hope we can welcome you to chow down on some chicken soon! It’s going to be pretty handy if you’re nipping off up north on the train or if you’ve got time to come in and relax with us.

We now have 22 restaurants in central London, a pretty impressive count I’m sure you’ll agree. We’re near several stations – Victoria (Cardinal Place and Wilton Road), Euston (right outside the station), Kings Cross (York Way) , London Bridge (Clink St) and Liverpool Street (Spitalfields) – a take away from Nando’s could be the perfect travel companion to join you on your next train journey. Fancy a pre-theatre Nando’s? We have restaurants in Piccadilly (Glasshouse St), Soho (Frith St), Covent Garden (Chandos Place) and Holborn (Southampton Place). Also if you’re on a shopping extravaganza at Westfield, a quick bite to eat in Nando’s is a perfect retail therapy break.

So, we just thought we’d share with you our newest restaurant to open and remind you that wherever and whenever you need us we’ll be there!

The guys are big Nando’s fans, so much so that their tour manager Rob Highcroft has had the Nando’s cockerel tattooed on his finger – check out this picture! That’s dedication for you!

We’re delighted that they’re such big fans and wish them lots of luck with their tour – check out what they’re up to here http://www.youmeatsix.co.uk/

We’re Number One!

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Well, we’ve always known it, but we’re still pretty chuffed it has to said! We’ve been voted Number One in the Sunday Times Best Big Company to work for awards! The award means a lot to us because it recognises the inspiration and encouragement that everyone who works at Nando’s experiences.

A few of our colleagues went along on Thursday 25th February to the awards ceremony in Battersea Park. It was a great evening and everyone from Nando’s was made to feel very welcome. Apparently lots of people approached the team during the evening proudly showing their Nando’s loyalty cards! The announcement of our win was kept quiet until Sunday (7th March) because that was when it was featured in the Sunday Times. However, one of our MD’s managed to take one of the posters announcing our win underneath his jacket and back through Waterloo station – it’s about 3ft !!

We thought we’d share a few of our pictures. We’re really proud of this award, it means an awful lot to us.

Zac in Gremlins pic

Remember Gremlins? Brilliant wasn’t it – might have been a while ago, but it’s still great. Anyway, the guy who played Billy (Zach Galligan) is appearing in a new film called Cut, which is the world’s first single continuous shot Horror/Thriller Feature Film. Zach is over in the UK at the moment for the premier and we were lucky enough to have a chat with him before he got stuck into some Peri Peri chicken at Nando’s in Notting Hill.

Most Depressing Day?

Monday, January 25th, 2010

So then, we’ve read in the news today that this is meant to be the most depressing day of the year! Apparently the lack of Christmas festivities, knowledge that we’ve all broken our New Years Resolutions and still a few days till pay day means that we’re at rock bottom!!

http://news.scotsman.com/health/Why-today-will-be-most.5989440.jp

It’s easy to say isn’t it, but maybe we should be looking further afield around the world to see people who are really hitting rock bottom, surviving an earthquake and living in devastation is something we can’t even comtemplate. We’d like to encourage you to look at the link above for a bit of fun, howeverwe think that really the link below would probably be time better spent. Not meaning to preach, just thought we’d share!

It’s a Corn – tastrophe!!

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

OK – we know you love them! We know you love to smother them in butter and sink your teeth into their tasty flesh, but I’m afraid I have bad news – we’re running short on Corn on the Cob at the moment! We have pretty high standards for our corn – yellow, corny etc, etc (similar to our standards for our blog, humm…) but our usual source has unexpectedly dwindled. Fear not though it’ll only be for a couple of weeks and then our top quality delicious Corn on the Cob will be back on the menu! Sorry for any disappointment, in the meantime you could try another of our delicious side dishes – creamy potato mash is grrreeeat, as is the sweet potato mash. Incidentally have you tried the Macho Peas yet – they are really, really good, unexpected flavour combination with chilli and mint – taste sensation!!!

Apologies again for the lack of corn – we’ll have them back as soon as possible, we didn’t want to serve you any manky inferior ones so we’re going to hold out for the good stuff!!
