The aspiring musicians were mentored by three established global artists; UK rapper and MOBO award winner, Nadia Rose; South African vocalist, producer and founder of independent label ‘Albino Black’, Nonku Phiri; and Australian rapper and winner of the triple j Unearthed ‘Artist of the Year’, Kwame.

The well-known artists lent their expertise and guidance to the talented participants, who were tasked to collaborate and combine the sounds of Southern Africa, Australia and the UK with their own individualistic styles to create a complete track.

To kick off the week of inspiration and collaboration, we hosted an intimate ‘Masterclass’ Q&A with UK mentor Nadia Rose. Gutted you missed out? Don’t be, we recorded it just for you! So, if you want to hear about her journey through the music industry as well as some hints and tips, click the link below and get watching.

Across the four days of the programme, participants will also be invited down to a series of Q&As and specially curated panel talks with the mentors as well as leading industry figures. This includes the likes of Grime MC and Mercury Prize nominee, Novelist; Maribou State’s, Liam Ivory (fresh off the back of an Australian tour & sell out Sydney Opera House show); Australia’s answer to Annie Mac & NLV Records Founder, Nina Las Vegas; Tottenham songbird & Salaam Remi collaborator, Miraa May; and leading UK musician, JGrrey.
